This week we saw the return of Karen Walker’s love of Victorian as she showed her new collection at New York Fashion Week this week.
Effortlessly nostalgic in true Karen Walker style, inspired by the 1970‘s time-travel series Sapphire and Steel - Joanna Lumley’s character providing inspiration for Time Machine, a collection that fuses style from the bell-bottomed decade with functionality. As well as featuring elements of utilitarian denim, sheepskin coating and ruffled detailing. As always, Karen’s signature eye for print was vividly present throughout the collection, from a time-warped floral to a subtle take on television static. Karen Walker created a collection that not only captured the integrity of time but paired with the styling of fellow kiwi - Kathryn Neale, they created a look that the Karen Walker woman will happily time-travel into next Fall.
The collection will be available in New Zealand from August 2015.
