Galliano's return- Natalie Bridges for Sisters & Co

The much-anticipated return of John Galliano to the international fashion stage has taken place with his first show since 2011. The former Dior designer was behind Martin Margiela Artisanal's spring 2015 couture collection, which happened last week.

Kooky, quirky, but equally romantic and classic too, Galliano's signature drama and theatrics was evident. The brand describes the pieces as 'powerful and fierce'.

Galliano was fired by Dior (part of the LVMH group) four years ago after he made anti-Semitic remarks when drunk. He's since tried to apologise. In light of recent events in Paris and the understandable offence that remains around Galliano's previous comments, the timing of the show was sensitive. But there's no doubt that he's one of the most talented designers of our age.

In the audience were many big names in fashion: Christopher Bailey, Hasper Conran, Kate Moss, Anna Wintour, Alber Elbaz and Manolo Blahnik.
